Don’t Leave the Collaborating Just Up to the Influencers – IYKYK.

We’ve worked with small business after small business who have had similar mindsets going into 2025… (ourselves included) wanting to leave the survival mode behind and make it the year they THRIVE & while yes, we’re a social media team looking to help you find joy in screaming your authentic tone of voice from the rooftops while building strong systems doing so - we also have encouragement in other areas that will keep you feeling grounded, light your path and help you feel a little less alone, yes… even virtually.

THE POWER OF CONNECTION.

Like Jenna Kutcher said perfectly “Small businesses have something way more powerful than budget, we’ve got community & that’s our superpower!”

But… only if we USE it.

Amplify experienced this first-hand earlier this year when we joined our county Chamber of Commerce, attended the “Women in Business” events, started interviewing local business owners that inspire us, began hanging out with our clients (small business owners) OUTSIDE of content days & honestly, just got a gym membership that put us in front of more people… urging more conversations, more opportunities to reflect, more MORE. (Is MORE the theme here?!)

Statistically small businesses that are collaborating with like minded ones are more likely to have a growth year – so here’s our list of 5 action items you can take today to plug in and charge the way your small business deserves.

  1. Get out of your head and get into your inbox.

You know just like we know that you follow a handful of other businesses similar to yours (healthy competition auditing right?!) … well what if you took them off of a pedestal you have them on, shifted your thoughts from them being the competitor to using them as a resource? Because the simple truth is this: there’s enough to go around and there’s so much power in numbers. If you built relationships with people who inspire you, you’ll learn a a lot more just through simple conversation than you would from consumption of their content alone. Ask to jump on a call, for their cell number so you can text them when you’re thinking about them or if they’re local, dive into a networking event together!

  2. Join the group/club that intimidates you.

That emotion… intimidation. Probably a good sign that that’s going to be where you find a whole heck of a lot of growth. This could be your county’s Chamber of Commerce, this could be the mastermind that you keep hearing everyone talk about, this could be a walking-club that has been on your “to join” list all year long. No matter how thought out the event or what kick-butt panel is attending or not, anything is better than isolating yourself in the 4 walls of your home. So sign-up.

  3. Be willing to SHOW-OFF others, authentically.

You’ve heard before that the more you GIVE, the more you eventually will receive, right? This doesn’t just apply to charity! Make it a weekly mission to visit local small businesses & give them a REAL review on your stories. These reviews should be from your heart, with emotion, with some power behind your voice… you could make their ENTIRE week with an authentic choice of words & they will be more inclined to follow you back and get to know YOUR business the same way you did theirs! Plus, this selfless act can build a ton of trust with your audience.

  4. Share audiences.

Speaking of audiences… use your friend’s businesses as an opportunity to SHARE who each other is following. What we mean is this: Sally’s boutique business has specific followers that found her somehow, someway & Sue’s juice press business found hers — but if you made an effort to consistently tag each other when out, lift each other up publicly, lean into each other’s social strengths, etc… when your audience sees your worlds colliding, it’s easy to cheer for friends of people THEY already know and love.

  5. Take a break.

This is probably going to be the hardest one for you, the hard-working “this is going to be my year so I have to go ALL out” business owner. But hear us when we say this: your hobbies will bring you more than just a little burst of passion… it will get you in THE room with the ability to have human connection. Will everyone that you meet be a small business owner? No. But are the chances high that SOME will be? YES.

*Insert call to action here… no really, what will it take for you to just do these?

✨Making a sign & posting it to your fridge?

✨Texting your mom with a way to hold you accountable?

✨Habit stacking it with actions in your life that are already concrete?

*If none of that urges you to take action, shoot us a message on instagram @amplifysocial_media & we can work on a way to get you moving <3
